AUGUST 2020 | Wrap-Up and Favs

Summer is almost over and I am already missing it. I can’t believe I’m saying this for August but I wish school is sooner. I just want to have a regular schedule and be productive again so I don’t feel sorry about not using my brain.

  1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (re-read)
  2. Cheese in the Trap (webtoon) #96 by soonkki
  3. Odd Girl Out (webtoon) #220 by Morangg
  4. Tower of God (webtoon) #485 by SIU
  5. Let’s Play (webtoon) #10 by Mongie

Pages read: 165+ (the plus sign is here because I can’t count the pages for webtoons)

  • All the webtoons I read except Cheese in the Trap were really good! I’m gonna do a post on them later this month. 😀

  1. Dream High Ep 8-16 (finished)
  2. Fairy Tail Ep 51-116 (re-watch)
  3. Tokyo Ghoul S2 Ep 1-12 (finished)
  4. Kiss Goblin Ep 3-10 (up to date)
  5. Elite Ep 1-8 (finished)
  6. Tokyo Ghoul S3 Ep 1-24 (finished)
  7. Pure Melo District Ep 1-4 (finished)
  8. Twenty Twenty Ep 1-5 (up to date)
  9. Howl’s Moving Castle
  10. Goblin Ep 1-8
  11. Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale
  • Fairy Tail: It’s been a while since I last watched the anime and I think I watched up to about episode 150 last time? Anyway, I miss having something fun and light to watch. And it’s good to get back to listening to Japanese for about an hour daily again. It’s getting quite rusty.
  • Howl’s Moving Castle: Can you believe I watch this for the first time at the age of 18? Like other Studio Ghibli films, I loved the art, the music and the little fire devil was the cutest.

  1. Dreamcatcher – Intro
  2. Dreamcatcher – BOCA
  3. Dreamcatcher – Break the Wall
  4. Dreamcatcher – Can’t get you out of my mind
  5. Dreamcatcher – Dear
  6. Dreamcatcher – BOCA (Inst.)
  • Since I’m doing my favourite K-Pop releases in my Biased K-Pop Newsletter posts, I won’t say too much here.
  • Dreamcatcher’s BOCA: It’s another amazing comeback from my girls!! I like how the choreography this time focuses more on the groupwork and the big picture instead of individual movements. The idea that the song is about online malicious comments was also super cool!

  1. I haven’t watched a single Studio Ghibli movie in my life, and this is awful to admit, I need to fix this asaaaap XD

    1. Oh really? 😂 You really should give them a try! I feel like the romance part is usually the weakest element of Studio Ghibli films but the story and the art are always super healing!

      1. I know, I know!!! I need to watch them asap! Which one would you recommend I watch first? 😀

      2. That’s a hard question… I haven’t watched all of the popular ones either. I guess it depends on what you want? Spirited Away is my favourite because it has some fascinating Japanese folklore elements and I love this kind of mythology stuff. Totoro has a more simple story so it’s also a good way to get started. But honestly, each film has its own charms so I’d recommend looking at some online rankings of Studio Ghibli films instead of just listening to me, haha.

    1. You’re welcome! ❤️ The Left & Right choreo should be the easiest of Seventeen’s haha. It’s more about feeling the movements than the technique stuff. I hope you enjoy learning it! 🙂

    1. No problem! Dancing to K-Pop is really fun and that’s why I like to learn the choreos as kind of a workout. 😀 I’m not recording or watching myself dance in the mirror either so maybe it actually looks like I’m wiggling, haha.

  2. Thank you so much for mentioning our post! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!

I just started actively seeking out K-pop in the past few days, so I’m still pretty new to most of the songs. But I loved listening to BOCA, so now I’m definitely going to have to check out more of Dreamcatcher’s music!

I hope you have a wonderful September!

    1. You’re welcome! I enjoyed reading your post. 🙂

There are so many different styles / genres of music in K-Pop and I’m sure you’ll find something that fits your taste. I’m glad that you like BOCA! Dreamcatcher has a really unique concept and the rock sound isn’t something you can hear often in K-Pop. That’s why they are my favourite girl group 😀

I also hope you have an amazing September!
